Photographic archival recording
A systematic visual record of a place before change, prepared around the applicable consent condition, brief or heritage requirement.
AU — Photographic archival recording
Systematic heritage photography aligned to your council condition, planning approval or project brief.
When the approval says “record”
Heritage Capture documents buildings, sites and infrastructure before they are altered, adapted or removed. We work with property owners, architects, builders, developers, heritage consultants and government project teams.
Every commission begins with the actual approval condition or project brief. That keeps the photography relevant, the scope transparent and the final record useful.

A systematic visual record of a place before change, prepared around the applicable consent condition, brief or heritage requirement.
Comprehensive exterior, interior, context and detail photography before full or partial demolition begins.
Repeatable milestone records before, during and after works, with consistent viewpoints and clear image registers.
High-resolution architectural coverage for conservation, asset management, interpretation and consultant reporting.

Methodical by design
A defensible record needs sequence and context. We capture the relationship between the place and its setting, then move through elevations, rooms, structures, finishes and significant details.
How it works
Send us what you have. We will help translate the requirement into a practical photography and delivery scope.
Forward the consent condition, council request, heritage brief or consultant scope. We identify the photographic deliverables and any missing information.
You receive a clear scope covering access, site areas, reporting, file formats, plans, timing and fees—before photography is booked.
We photograph the setting, elevations, spaces, fabric, significant details and nominated views using a methodical shot plan.
We supply the agreed high-resolution files, image register and report-ready documentation for your project team or consent authority.
State requirements
Requirements differ by authority and project. Always rely on your issued consent, permit or written brief—not a generic checklist.
Photographic archival recording may be required by a development consent or heritage condition before demolition, alteration or major works. The exact condition and current authority guidance determine the scope.

About Heritage Capture
Heritage Capture is an Australian photographic documentation service created for projects where the record matters. We combine architectural photography discipline with an orderly, consent-aware workflow.
Our role is focused: understand the photographic requirement, document the place thoroughly and deliver files that are easy for clients, consultants and authorities to use.
Common questions
Not quite. Architectural photography prioritises presentation. An archival recording is systematic and evidentiary: it documents context, elevations, interiors, significant fabric and details in a traceable sequence.
No photographer can guarantee an authority decision. We work carefully from the actual condition, brief and supplied plans, and will flag any unclear requirement before capture.
Usually after the requirement is confirmed and before demolition, alteration or construction begins. For staged works, photography may also be needed during and after construction.
Yes, where included in the selected scope. Deliverables can range from photography and an image register to a formatted photographic archival recording report.
